Whoever ‘Izvrasaki’ was, they had a fertile imagination, a full box of paints, and a keen eye for their intended clientele.

‘Izvrasaki’ suggests a Russian or Eastern European connection, izvra being a Russian word for ‘something perverted’; this in turn – together with the supposed Budapest location of their only known portfolio – has led some to believe that Izvrasaki is in fact Alex Székely, whose work you can see here. There are certainly similarities in style, though the connection has never been authenticated.
