Mignardises rustiques (Rustic Delights), a portfolio of seven coloured drawings depicting exactly what it says on the cover, is as far as we know the only explicitly erotic work of Adam’s to survive, and this only in one copy. As with his better-known etchings, the characterisation is entirely believable. What is particularly interesting is that experimenting with dildo equivalents is nothing new.
