Les petits jeux innocens: les gages tirés (Innocent Little Games: Redeemed Pledges) was one of Devéria’s earliest erotic portfolios, inspired by Pierre-Antoine-Augustin de Piis’s 1830 play with the same title. The Chevalier de Piis (1755–1832) was a French dramatist and man of letters, who with Pierre-Yves Barré co-founded the Paris Théâtre du Vaudeville.

The ten brightly-coloured plates depict a standard range of erotic encounters, very similar to scenes in the prints of Rowlandson and Les bigarrures from the same period.
