The first Heilige Priapus (Saint Priapus) portfolio was evidently popular, and Erler had more ideas up his sleeve as to what could be done with his star character, so a year later the sequel, Der heilige Priapus: 2 Folge, appeared, with another ten imaginative uses for male genitalia.

The follow-up portfolio includes a couple of well-worked tropes, like the cello (Vertès did it better) and the penis on a platter (pace Lepoittevin), but it does put a new slant on the old rhyme Ride a Cock-Horse.

Like the first portfolio, the title page of Der heilige Priapus: 2 Folge makes it clear that the contents are ‘Nur für die Freunde der Kunstlers’, Erler’s select circle.
