Ulf Rahmberg’s paintings are shown here in roughly chronological order, though as much of his work is undated and untitled it is often hard – and maybe unnecessary – to look for a discernible development in his style. Rahmberg has always been an experimenter, playing with artistic styles from classical art to 1960s comics, Surrealism and contemporary political cartoons, always with skilled attention to detail and a keen political awareness.

Worth looking out for among his paintings are those which include paper flaps to reveal layers within the work, the Arcimboldo-style anthropomorphic sexual faces, and the detail around the edges of some of the larger paintings.
